Initiatives & PROJECTS.
New Life Program
New Life is dedicated to individuals within our community grappling with the challenges of mental illness, both among the youth and adults. Our unwavering commitment is to offer steadfast support, fostering stability and paving the way for their journey to recovery. Success, for them, represents a newfound sense of enthusiasm, a strengthened positive self-belief, and the determination to actively pursue the rebuilding of essential life skills, fostering independence, and achieving ultimate recovery.
Believe
Program
The Believe Program is designed to support single mothers, children, and single fathers facing homelessness, unemployment, or displacement. We aim to empower these individuals by enhancing their educational and job skills. To meet the diverse needs of these families, we have established a clothing reservoir, ensuring that we address not only their material requirements but also boost their confidence as they reach out to us for assistance.
Calab Labs
Calab Labs is on a mission to fuel a passion for technology in our children, aiming to bridge the gender and race gap in technology. From Girls Who Code to initiatives targeting inner-city youth, numerous organizations are achieving remarkable feats and nurturing robust tech skills in our young minds.
At Calab Labs, we are dedicated to empowering low-income, underserved, and marginalized individuals through the transformative tools of technology. Our focus is on designing and implementing intro to different tech courses and programs that are not only relevant and meaningful but also accessible to students aged 5 to 21, regardless of their background. We intentionally channel our efforts towards youth from historically marginalized communities, introducing them to the vast realm of the Tech World.
As we embark on the journey of awakening dormant geniuses, tapping into unexplored parts of the brain, and instilling a lifelong love for tech. We aim to provide introductory courses in diverse tech fields, including Cloud Computing, Biotechnology, AI, Machine Learning, Information Technology, Robotics, Cybersecurity, and more. These courses are designed to strategically mold futures for success in the ever-evolving technology industry.
In the face of a pandemic-induced upheaval in our daily lives, millions are still unemployed, public schools are still offering remote learning, and distance education has become the new norm. This shift has underscored a pressing need for access to technology, especially in low-income households. Youth now rely on online platforms for their studies, making a functioning computer a necessity.
Recognizing this challenge, Calab Labs is committed to filling technological gaps for homes in need. Our goal is to provide tools for at-home use, enabling continued learning and educational development. This includes distributing laptops, monitors, desktop computers, tablets, headphones, speakers, and more.
To achieve this, we plan to collaborate with nonprofits, local community-based organizations, educational institutions, corporations, foundations, technology providers, and the public sector. Together, as a united community, we can open doors to opportunities that lead to a brighter future for those in need of a helping hand and encouragement to persevere.
Regardless of whether you have kids of your own, your involvement is crucial. We are actively seeking positive and motivated volunteers to join us on this impactful journey. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these young minds and contribute to a more equitable and empowered future.
